The start of a new year often signifies new beginnings for people. It is no different at Alco, while most of us are settling in into our Headquarters, Daniel Carr , Our newly appointed Country Manager for ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) is looking forward to a new start in Australia, where he is soon going to be based in order to build a stronger presence for the Alco Valves Group.
Daniel has been a part of Alco, for five years. Initially working as our UK external Sales Engineer, some of the duties in his role entailed, customer visits and general sales activities. Daniel was soon promoted to Internal Sales Manager, where a big part of his role involved structuring training, supporting the internal sales team and helping to develop and implement changes in the sales processes that were used after the acquisition of Graco. Daniel firmly believes that this phase played a big part in his professional development.
Daniel is absolutely ecstatic to start working on the project in Australia, whilst still remaining very grateful for the years he has spent on the road and here at our Headquarters in Brighouse. Daniel said, “As I begin my fifth year with Alco and undertake what I can comfortably claim as a huge challenge while at the same time my most exciting assignment so far, I cannot help but reflect on the progress I have witnessed within the company, and the personal growth and professional development Alco has provided me during my career”.
Furthermore, Daniel went on to talk about his senior management by saying, “I have been extremely fortunate to undertake several assignments with Alco since my original appointment. The development of an Alco Valves Group ANZ business would have been a daunting task if it were not for the rounded experience, support and guidance provided by my colleagues over the last four years. The mentoring provided by our commercial director over the last two years has tremendously aided my professional development and I will be forever grateful.”
On being asked about how he felt about the future, Daniel said, “With the ongoing investment witnessed daily and the benefit of our new Headquarters- the future prospects of Alco look extremely promising and I feel proud to have played my part in these developments and look forward to the continued success of the Alco business. He further added, “I am comforted in the knowledge that I am backed by a dedicated team of experienced professionals, who individually are remarkable people. This makes the challenge of relocating my family, leaving behind friends and family, and dealing with all the challenges of generating a business presence a much easier task”
We are immensely proud of the growth and improvement we have seen in Daniel Carr over the past five years and we also firmly believe that it has prepared him to take on the new assignment in Australia. We wish him and his family the very best of luck and hope that 2017 is a rewarding year for him.
